The Horn and East Africa Parliamentary Institute (HAEAPI) was founded in 2019
by Somali intellectuals and scholars both from inside Somalia and the Diaspora.

Who we are

The Horn and East Africa Parliamentary Institute (HAEAPI)

The Horn and East Africa Parliamentary Institute (HAEAPI) was established in 2019 by a consortium of Somali intellectuals and scholars, drawn from both within Somalia and across the Horn and East Africa region. HAEAPI is an independent institute committed to serving as a trustworthy and impartial resource, providing unbiased training to lawmakers at both the Federal and State levels. Our mission is to offer all members of parliament comprehensive analysis, innovative ideas, and insightful studies on fostering a peaceful, prosperous, and resilient Somalia.

What we do

Training Workshops

We organize workshops and seminars on topics such as legislative drafting, human rights advocacy, gender equality, and conflict resolution, equipping parliamentarians with the knowledge and skills needed to fulfill their roles effectively

Networking and Collaboration

We facilitate networking opportunities and foster collaboration among parliamentarians, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to promote dialogue and cooperation on shared challenges and priorities.
